Aldermere Farm offers self-guided, outdoor fun during Camden’s Christmas By the Sea. December 5 between 9am-noon don your most festive (or ugliest) holiday sweater and take a selfie with a Beltie in front of the pen by Aldermere’s Visitor Center. Take home a Beltie ornament making kit. There will be a collection slot for donations to fund supplying Aldermere beef to food pantries and designated parking areas along Russell Ave. Please follow the CDC’s guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing. A much loved holiday tradition is forging ahead to bring good tidings to the Camden area starting the first weekend in December, as the Camden Area Business Group presents Christmas By the Sea. The 34th annual Christmas By the Sea will include holiday displays, tree-lightings, virtual visits and a story time with Santa Claus live from the North Pole, a family treasure hunt, and other fun surprises. Lights Over Montpelier - A Sparkling Experience
Atop the hill overlooking Routes 1 and 131 in Thomaston this holiday season, Montpelier will be decked out in pine, evergreen and lights. We invite families to join their friends and neighbors beginning at dusk each night for a sparkling drive-through experience at the Knox Museum beginning December 5, 2020 and running through January 9, 2021.

PAWS Animal Adoption Center in Camden is moving forward with its largest annual fundraiser of the year, entirely online. Starting Black Friday, PAWS will go live with its annual Auction for the Animals, until midnight December 9. The PAWS Auction for the Animals is by far the most important to the shelter, especially this year after the pandemic caused the Camden-based animal shelter to cancel three of its major fundraisers in the interest of public safety.

The auction will open to the public for bidding at midnight on Black Friday. Auction items will be viewable before the auction opens and will include bidding packages both large and small. The West Bay Rotary Christmas tree fundraiser is back. Christmas trees and wreaths will be available for sale at Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport from 11/27 until 12/20 or until trees are all sold. The hours are: 9 am - 6 pm the day after Thanksgiving, noon to 6 pm Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 am to 6 pm weekends. An honor box is also available for after-hours sales.

NET PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT CHARITIES AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

This year, you can also purchase Lucky’s Christmas Vacation raffle tickets (while supplies last). Tickets are $10 each or six tickets for $50, and the winner will receive a certificate for seven nights at the Vanderbilt Beach Resort in Naples, Florida. Net proceeds from the raffle will benefit three local nonprofits that help people in need: Camden Area Christian Food Pantry, One Less Worry, and the Shields Mission Project.
